Dead Ox Trailblazers encourage everyone to get active outdoors in all seasons. We offer a variety of programs for all ages, interests and abilities. In winter we provide cross country ski lessons, snowshoeing and various outings. Winter biking is our newest offer. Spring, summer & fall programs include a hiking group, a mountain bike program and paddling outings. The hiking & walking continues into the fall.

How to register: Step 1: Register for Dead Ox membership www.zone4.ca Family $57 or Individual $28 plus processing fee
Step 2: Purchase an M.C.A. license http://mbcycling.ca then click ‘Join the MCA’ Click on the blue bar ‘Buy your MCA license or membership’, create an account or sign in to account and complete registration.
General membership (non-racing) U17 $65 plus taxes and processing fees. Kids wishing to ride must have an approved cycling-specific helmet, a mountain bike with hand brakes and gears, and be able to ride their bike without training wheels.

Kids of Mud (KOM) is the official youth cycling program of the Manitoba Cycling Association (MCA). Dead Ox Sprockets facilitates mountain bike skills; how to maintain your bike; environmental stewardship; trail safety and trail building. It is a learn-to-ride program for kids 18 and younger covering the Fundamentals, Learn to Train and Train to Train stages of the Long Term Athlete Development pathway. Through the help of certified coaches and other volunteers, riders will learn the basics of off-road cycling with an opportunity to challenge their skill and fitness in any of the MCA mountain bike races open to age category racers.

The Jackrabbit method uses fun, fun, and more fun to teach cross-country skiing techniques. Games and relays form the core of the program, but along the way kids and their adults gain skill, balance, strength, and endurance.to learn to ski in a fun session.

Meet every Wednesday starting April 17th at the McCreary Arena to carpool
Hikes will be on a road to start and progress to a variety of trails/distances while we gain endurance.
Sturdy shoes recommended but runners work too. Bring water, snack, rain jacket/shell and sun hat. Wear sunscreen even on cloudy days.
